Expertly crafted acoustic guitar

While the TransAcoustic's electronics deserve acclaim, the guitar is a wonderfully made acoustic instrument in its own right. With a single strum you'll notice the detail and warmth of the guitar's ARE-treated solid spruce top. Yamaha's ARE technology artificially ages the wood, achieving the clarity of tone found on great vintage instruments. The LL-TA's back and sides are crafted from solid rosewood, which imbue the instrument with a powerful low and high frequencies. And Sweetwater guitarists agree that the ebony appointments add a touch of class.

Un-amplified ambiance

The Yamaha TransAcoustic's calling card is its onboard reverb and chorus effects. What sets them apart from other instruments with onboard effects is that these don't require any external amplification. Engage the effects via the simple-to-use controls and you'll experience and acoustic experience like playing in a rich, ambient venue. No amp or PA required. And when it's time for the gig, you can access those same great tones plugged in through the guitar's System70 pickup system.

Yamaha's L body shape

Yamaha's L body style has been an extremely popular take on the famed dreadnought-type acoustic guitar since its introduction decades ago. The design features a wider lower bout that extends the low-end frequencies and projection of the instrument without having to resort to a significantly larger body. The TransAcoustic's LL-TA L body has a bold sound that you'll find equally adept at powerful strumming as it is flatpicked single-note lines.

Yamaha TransAcoustic LL-TA Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Acoustic-electric guitar with onboard effects
  • Reverb and chorus can be used without external amplification
  • Easy-to-use 3-knob control layout
  • Solid spruce top treated with Yamaha's ARE technology

The Yamaha TransAcoustic LL-TA delivers a studio-quality playing experience.

Actuator

An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.

Simple Controls

Three simple knobs let you adjust the amount of effects and the line out volume level. Keeping the controls small minimizes the area of the holes in the body material, which reduces acoustic sound loss.

(A) Chorus Control

(B) Reverb Control (Room/Hall)

(C) TA Switch/Line Out Volume Control

* Pressing the TA Switch for longer than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function.

* When a cable is connected to the line out jack, the line out volume can be adjusted by rotating knob (C).

* The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position.

Battery Box

The battery box is integrated into the end-pin jack, which requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic-electric guitar.
